Ever since I was a child, I have loved bacon. So, preparing this light lunch was a personal delight for me. It consists of a simple sandwich made with whole grain wheat bread, lettuce, bacon, and mayonnaise. I served it with some sour cream and onion chips with strawberry and cherries along for the ride. It was not difficult to make nor was the meal in itself heavy, it was really, "a light thing." As I thought about this meal, I thought about the scripture account in 2 Kings, where God told the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom that what they needed Him to do was a light thing, though it seemed impossible to them.
And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand. (2 Kings 3:18)
These kings were in a desperate situation. They were about to engage in a battle, but discovered that there no water for themselves, nor their animals needed for war. In other words, they were sure to die from battle and lack of provision. however, God sends His word by Elisha and says that it is a light thing for Him to deliver and provide for them.
Today, I want to encourage you who are facing seemingly impossible situations. Though you may not see how God can or will intervene, just know that nothing is to hard for Him. Whatever is before you as a high mountain is a small mound before God, it is a light thing. Trust and believe on today that He will show you His power to deliver and guide through the most dire situations.
